Another successful golf day, raising £540.00 for Chestnut Tree House
On Friday 6th July, ROC hosted yet another successful Golf Day, this year held at Surrey National Golf Club in Chaldon, Surrey.
The day started off with a full English breakfast before 6 teams headed out into the sun shine to play 18 holes, armed with goody bags to keep them going and buggies to get the round the very hilly course!
We used GolfScore LIVE to take care of registration and scoring which allowed us to make the most of the time with all attendees. Each group was provided with a hand held device to facilitate scoring and even view an on course leaderboard to create some healthy competition! Back at the club house, a large screen scrolled through team stats and a live leaderboard as the game was in play. Adrian, of Golf Score Live, was a great help on the day and provided a very professional and friendly service.
Following golf, the guests enjoyed a BBQ (and a well-earned drink!) on the club house patio, which provided fantastic views of the golf course, made even better with live music from Matt Harvey Music.
Prize giving and a charity raffle took place shortly after, where Craig Hall (Connect CR) was announced the overall winner. The winning team was Neil Stapleton (ROC), Craig Hall (Connect CR), Fraser Scalnon (Connect CR) and Andy McClory (ROC guest).
He may not consider himself as a winner, but the proud owner of the ROC Wooden Spoon now belongs to Steve Cairns (ROC guest).
Raffle prizes and sponsorship for the day were generously donated by Hire Station, Rexel UK, Edmundson Electrical, IDSL, Medlock Electrical Distributors, Cleveland Cables, Electric Centre and Fixmart.
We raised a grand total of £540 for our chosen charity, Chestnut Tree House, an incredible children’s charity in Sussex who provide hospice and care for children and young adults with progressive life-shortening conditions. It costs a hefty £3.5million to provide all their care services each year, and families are never charged for the care they receive, so every penny the charity can raise truly does make a difference.
Thank you to all those who supported us.
We look forward to next year’s Golf Day and to welcoming back many familiar faces.
